On 12-6-2011 ECO joined the German America Conference on Energy Efficiency in Houston Energy Corrider. The goal of the conference was information about current trends in energy efficiency in buildings as well as to explore the market potential for companies working in the field of energy efficiency in Texas.

The friendly but comprehensive presentations covered a wide range of energy efficiency topics from novel "Plusenergy" concept building architectural as power plants, to advancements in waste-heat phase change refrigeration materials and applications.

Local green engineering firm provides key structural engineering services to allow construction of Greater Houston's Largest Solar Energy Array.

The Pasadena Independent School District's new solar energy learning laboratory will provide area students a first hand opportunity to see how engineering, manufacturing, design, and construction works in a real world application to help create a sustainable energy system.
HARC, Environment Texas, and the Sierra Club attended the ribbon cutting ceremony. ECO's engineering design staff also attended the ribbon cutting ceremony held today at Sam Rayburn High School. The Pasadena Independent School District (PISD) Solar Initiative features three different solar technologies that will eventually total 145kW. Multiple solar photo voltaic panels were installed on two PISD campuses, and South Houston High School.
ECO's Patrick Hankamer offered "This project represents one of the largest solar public school installations in Texas. It is great that we can say we were part of this."
ECO's Kevin Mills later offered "It was just great to see all the construction documents that I helped create mounted all along the wall of the conference room. They were tough to work out but the work paid off when I saw finished the awning solar array installed on the south side"
ECO's Gary Beck "I always try to mentioned that most people do not realize the amount of work and expertise required to make something like this happen. The MEP engineering firm had a huge amount of electrical design and construction coordination to manage between 3 different array systems. Installation could never happen without a commercial roofing expert like Tecta working closely with our engineering plans. Besides the local engineers, electrical contractors, and construction experts, this project demonstrated how domestic and global products work together.
Mr. Beck added, "Many of the mounting frames came from New Mexico, but the Moser Baer solar panels were manufactured in India. M-B's head of marketing Deepak Kukreja traveled all the way from New Delhi to attend today's ceremony. Then the custom designed solar awning frame was manufactured locally by an aluminum weld-fabricator following detailed fabrication drawings created by ECO.
I spoke to about 10 students before the ceremony, and of course I had to tell them to do cool stuff like this, they really needed to look into becoming an engineer. I think I had two or three interested candidates, so a 20 to 30% conversion would not be too bad, would it?"
